Richard received a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Entrepreneurship from the University of Central Florida in 2009. His undergraduate achievements include high honors in Business Law and notable recognition as a finalist in the UCF Business Planning and Strategic Planning Competitions. During his undergraduate years, he played a pivotal role in signing multiple emerging recording artists to their first record deals, blending his business and legal expertise with a passion for the music industry. Prior to starting law school, Richard worked at a prominent South Florida Record Label where he was given the responsibility of overseeing the marketing and promotional campaigns of several multiplatinum recording artists.
Richard earned his Juris Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University and graduated Cum Laude in May of 2012. He is also a member of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. He currently represents national corporations and franchises, medical professionals, public figures, professional athletes, recording artists, music producers, real estate moguls, venture capitalists, talent agents, and fellow entrepreneurs alike. Richard is particularly experienced in business start-ups, acquisitions, and expansion efforts, including commercial lease negotiations and partnership agreements. He has been selected as Florida Super Lawyers Rising Star each year since 2016, an award given to the top 2.5% of attorneys under the age of 40. Over the years, Richard has successfully brokered tens of millions of dollars’ worth of major record deals, franchise agreements, commercial real estate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, asset purchases, endorsement deals, and investment contracts.
His litigation portfolio ranges from state and federal criminal defense to multi-million-dollar intellectual property and fraud claims involving publicly traded companies. Outside of the courtroom, Richard channels much of his charisma and enthusiasm into motivational speaking and philanthropy, organizing seminars for underprivileged children and charity fundraisers for pediatric hospitals around the country. He has been featured in top tier publications such as Entrepreneur Magazine, Success Magazine, and USA Today, and published his first book/audio book, “The Blueprint” in 2013. Through his various entities and start-ups, Richard also owns multiple United States utility and design patents, copyright registrations, and various trademarks.
